Exhibition Museum W 2023

From 13 May to 29 October 2023, the solo exhibition ‘Adagio Violente – on pilgrimage with Frans Franciscus’ can be seen in Museum W in Weert. Frans’s extensive oeuvre consists of paintings, ceramic sculptures and photography in which a broad view of humanity is presented. The work is appealing, sharp, socially relevant and sometimes humorous.

Franciscus draws inspiration from classical European painters such as Caravaggio and Rubens, but also from mythology and the Bible. He then gives these well-known themes and compositions a contemporary twist.
